Karama was founded as a joint initiative between the Community Media Network and Ma'mal 612 Think Factory.

The 2010 Festival is in partnership with the Jordanian National Center for Human Rights.

Mission:Karama aims to increate awareness of critical Human Rights issues and abuses around the world through film screenings, public debates and discussions, and an educational program extending to schools, universities and community centers in Jordan.

The festival this year tackles issues ranging from democracy, freedom of expression, women and children's rights, immigration, worker's rights and economic and social liberties.
