Barbara Gabathuler, Swiss National, has been working in Geneva for over 30 years. She majored in History of Art at the University of Geneva and received classical art training at a number of teaching institutions including the School of Decorative Arts of Geneva. Since 1993 she has held numerous solo and collective exhibitions in Canada, France and Switzerland.
For several years Barbara has been fascinated by Jordan; that's why she spent three months this spring to paint and get inspired from the lights and colors of this country.
“ My art is essentially centered on the research of light, transparency, marks and imprints, colors, lines and textures. My paintings are inspired by Jazz music and strive to possess their own musicality. Moreover, they speak of a passage between the interior and the outside. They are to be understood rather as suggestions than as obligations and certainties.”
Public and private acquisitions in England, France, Japan, Jordan, Switzerland, Turkey and USA.
