The archeological city of Jerash will host regional grand finale of Red Bull BreaKing contest next month, following its tremendous success last year in Amman as more than 4000 spectators gathered to cheer the BBoys.
Candidates from Qatar, Oman, UAE, Kuwait, Jordan, KSA, Lebanon, and Egypt, qualified for the finals and will all gather in Jordan for the grand finale. The winner will have the chance to travel to Saint Petersburg to attend the finals of Red Bull BC One, the most prestigious break dance contest in the world.
Last year, qualifying rounds were held in Qatar, Oman, KSA, Jordan, Bahrain, Lebanon, and UAE. The latter hosted the 2010 regional finals in Madinat Jumeirah amphitheatre where more than 1500 spectators gathered to watch the competition. Abdul Rahman Al Hamud won the title and attended the Red Bull BC One contest in Tokyo.

BBoying, also called Breakdancing or Breaking, was launched in late 1970 in the Bronx region in New York City. It is considered as a main element of Hip Hop culture in addition to DJ-ing and graffiti. The term “BBoying” refers to the way of dancing, moving and lifestyle. It was set by in New York City by Cal Herk, one of the best Hip Hop DJs in Bronx. Nowadays, BBoying and BGirling has become an imminent discipline all over the world. South Korea, France, and the USA have the most skilled dancers.
