Experience Wadi Rum like you have never seen it before as you follow a trail made of flaming torches under a full moon.

Held in Jordan and now in its fifth year, the 2012 Full Moon Desert Marathon remains a timed competitive event suitable for amateurs and professionals alike.

Professionals can use this event as cross-training in preparation for other more challenging marathons such as the Marathon des Sables in Morocco. Naturally there is also a 21Km half marathon and a 10Km fun run on offer. All events are timed and all receive awards for the first three placed in both gender categories.

For 2012, Royal Jordanian graciously sponsors overall 1st placed prizes for both genders in the full and the half marathon events.

As in previous years, in 2012 the FMDM continues to avail itself of the assistance of Jordan's 4x4 Club that along with the services of the Tourist Police will ensure safety and logistical support.
