Welcome to the Jordan Rally, which will host the fourth round of the 2012 FIA Middle East Rally Championship from October 11-13. Jordan has become established as the Arab World’s home for rallying after three successful FIA World Rally Championship events since 2008, and while we are taking a breather from the WRC for the time being, we look forward to staging a world-class regional event. And this year we have good reason to celebrate, as it is 30 years since our inaugural venture onto the Middle East series in 1982. We work hard in Jordan to maintain and further improve our standards and once again we will host our rally on the banks of the Dead Sea, which provides a truly spectacular setting. Our team is working around the clock to prepare some testing stages for the region’s best drivers and our army of tremendous unpaid helpers and support are preparing a very warm welcome to all. The event will be held on many of the routes tackled by the WRC’s very best and provide some excellent spectator locations for the Kingdom’s growing band of motorsport enthusiasts. I hope you enjoy our event and hopefully I will have the opportunity to see many of you over what promises to be three wonderful days of rallying.
