COURSE OBJECTIVES
Whilst studying the most relevant and successful video games projects, the course will focus on the guidelines that lead to the creation and development of a game project from scratch. Those theoretical tools will prove useful in creating game design documents and projects, as well as in implementing interactive game mechanics in media design, offering the students the chance to fully realize their own concepts while learning the basics of some of the most successful free development software packages like StencylWorks.
LEARNING OUTCOME
By the end of the course the students will be able to develop their own game design concept from a planning perspective and will have obtained the basics to create their own prototype with licence-free software available on the Internet.
COURSE OUTPUT
The successful completion of the course requires the realization of a real interactive project using StencylWorks presented as team or individual work.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of the English language.
The course is oriented towards curious newcomers to the field of videogame design who wish to acquire a fundamental knowledge base and understanding of the medium and learn how to start to prototype and develop using existing tools.

Laptop (you will have to download StencylWorks v.2.0 http://www.stencyl.com/stencylworks/overview/ once you start your classes in videogame design (Extra laptops will be provided if needed)

ATTENDANCE POLICY
Class attendance is required for successful completion of the course. Attendance will be taken every class period. On the last day of classes, the instructor, Design Institute Amman and Jordan Gaming Lab will issue a certificate of successful attendance to all students who have completed at least 80% of the course.
