Under the patronage of HRH Princess Alia Tawfiq Tabbaa and in the presence of the artist Nabad cordially invites you to the opening of PLAYFUL CONSTRUCTIONS, an exhibition of paintings, collages & reliefs by Lebanese artist HUSSEIN MADI at 6:30 pm on Monday 20 May 2013

“Playful Constructions” by celebrated Lebanese sculptor, painter and printmaker, Hussein Madi, features recent works in which the artist continues to approach art “with the hidden curiosity and playfulness of a child, as well as with the knowledge and wisdom of experience.” Over the past five decades, Madi has held over sixty solo exhibitions regionally and internationally and has participated in numerous biennales and exhibitions around the world. Born in 1938, Madi studied art in Rome. His works are held in such collections as the British Museum, Tokyo’s Ueno Museum, the Michel Tapié Collection in Paris and the Museum of Modern Art in Doha, Qatar. He lives and works in Beirut.
