Born in Amman in1983, Tareq started his journey with the Oud instrument at the age of 11 when he joined the Jordan Academy for Music. Taught by many Jordanian and Arab Oud Masters, He was awarded a scholarship from the Greater Amman Municipality to complete his BA in music specializing in the Cello at the National Music Conservatory.
In 2009, he received second prize at the International Oud competition held at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik/Lebanon. He conducted, composed and played with many bands. Al Jundi has many compositions to his name both for the Oud and for the Takht (the oriental music ensemble). He has also composed soundtracks for plays and TV shows. His latest album, “Terhal” (meaning travelling), which he will launching at the Al Balad Music Festival 2013, is a musical project inspired from various cultures, focusing on the expressive aspects of Oud in dialogue with Percussions and other instruments.
