Rawan’s works capture spontaneous moments in time that are infused with warmth and nostalgia. In both groups of works, the artist bears testimony to the past. The old and traditional serves as a basis for the new and innovative. She uses milk paint, which lends a rich and translucent finish to her paintings, while the wood and metal backgrounds give them a distinctly contemporary, organic quality. Born in 1983, Rawan studied architecture in Jordan and visual arts in New York. This is her second solo exhibition.
